SEVENTY THREE YEARS AGO

Last year, I didn’t hear much mention of Pearl Harbor day. It was a long time ago, but I still remember it.

I was thirteen. That morning, my dad woke my older sister, Virginia, and me to tell us. He had heard of the attack on the radio.

June Poucher (Nov. ‘14) adds, “I didn’t really understand the significance of the attack at the time, but my dad was pretty upset.”
